    MX5 Mk3 Rustproofing

Posted by Malith S on 22nd Oct 2020

Bought this kit for my Mk3 MX5. It was excellent value over buying the products individually and package was delivery very fast. The can gun makes application with the aerosol can so easy. I had completely tripped out the rear suspension/subframes etc so could get good access all the way underneath. Used the RC900 on all the areas with rust after wire brushing and cleaning down with Acetone. Love the RC900 product and it provides a great base to apply paint or other Dinitrol products over it. The 3125 cavity wax was injected to all the holes I could find along the car. The long reach nozzles really helped with this and made a job simple. I then gave the whole underside a thin coating of 3125 before letting this cure and applying the 4941 product. I have to say the 4941 once dry was a very nice (not tacky) surface. You can still feel its not fully dry so will stay flexible. I also coated all the inner panels around the engine and behind the bumper with the Corroheat product. This is a fantastic product as it lets you have the paint finish intact since the corroheat is clear once applied and dries hard. I will certainly use more of this on the inside once I get to strip the interior and protect all the surface inside. I will monitor how the protection works over the next year or so and see if it needs a top up once in a while. The kit contained almost enough 3125 and 4941 product but I ended up buying 2 more cans of RC900 since I used a lot on the rear suspension arms so I would say for an MX5 Mk3 you could ideally do with 3 RC900 cans and maybe an additional 3125, 4941 also to let you cover all the areas properly. The 2 cans of Corroheat would be sufficient if you were only doing the exterior areas but you'd need a few more than to do inside boot/interior areas etc.

    BMW Z3 - Rustproofing

Posted by Neil Corfield on 16th Jun 2020

This product is excellent and worth the additional consideration in price to protect your car. I have so far applied RC900 to areas with rust after cleaning thoroughly with flat wheel and wire brushes. Then Jet washing the underneath and left to bake in the heat for 2 days, before applying the RC900 to areas lower. Having used other products for wax oiling before, applied the Dinitrol 3125HS to cavities in the chassis rail on the BMW Z3 feel this product worked fantastically with the application gun provided and managed to treat all those hidden nooks. BMW Z3 - Rust Proofing with Dinitrol After removing the wheel arch liners and outer sills have now applied 4941 Undersealer to the floor pan, inner sills and arches and the finish is excellent, very impressed. I still have a small amount to do, but feel this kit size is about right, but for the Z3 would recommend 2 x additional 4941s if you are going to remove exhaust rear bumpers. I am reviewing this product only because it is really really good. I have spent many years in trade and used different products for customers, but now having my own home project feel this product get the review it needs. Don't mess about with other products, it all here and if your unsure visit the Dinitrol website in Norway and see how serious they take this product. Also see reviews on Landrovers. I have recommended this to the Z3 Roadster.org
