What is the cost of rust proofing a car?
Rust proofing is a process by which a barrier is formed to keep moisture away from metal surfaces. This barrier, if applied properly, will prevent the onset of corrosion. No barrier is guaranteed to last a life time and will require touching-up every five to seven years. The decision whether to invest in rust proofing really depends on how long you plan to keep your car. If you intend returning it at the end of your lease or you plan to trade it in for a new model before the rust warranty expires, then rust proofing may not be the investment you need to make. However, driving on heavily gritted roads daily could speed up the onset of corrosion even on a new car and therefore rust proofing may well be a viable option. The cost of rust proofing starts at £102.78 for a small vehicle.
Rust proofing can either be done by yourself or it can be carried out at a treatment centre. The cost of a DIY rust proofing kit is dependent on the size car you will be treating. Rust proofing kits are available for small, medium, large and extra large size vehicles and prices start from £102.78 inclusive of VAT. Kits are available either as an aerosol or a liquid (compressor and spray gun required).
The process involves spraying the treatment liquid or aerosol on all areas that are prone to rusting. These areas include the full undercarriage, inner surfaces of the bonnet and trunk lid, wheel wells, inner door panels and rocker panels.
Rejel supply all DINITROL rust proofing kits with a spray diagram. This is an extremely valuable addition to the purchase of rustproofing products from Rejel. Knowing where to spray the product will ensure a thorough job. Spray diagrams are available for each make and model of car so it is essential you notify Rejel of the car you will be rust proofing when you make a purchase. The sales team will also check that you have ordered the correct kit and size for your car and age thereof.
