Car rust proofing using Dinitrol

Protect your vehicle from corrosion with DINITROL car rust proofing. Underbody rust protection provides a tough resistant layer to shield against stone-chips, gravel, road debris, surface rain water and road salt during winter UK weather conditions.

With the increased risk of flooding in the UK and severe winters, many car owners are now looking to protect their cars by applying a rust proofing underbody coating. New cars usually receive an underbody coating during production or at import plants. But many people fail to realise that this coating should be inspected after 5 to 7 years depending on the type if road surfaces frequently driven.

Jack-up your car to look underneath to check that rust proofing is still providing adequate protection and the underbody is not damaged allowing rain water to penetrate through. On average it is recommended that a car should receive a fully renewed car rust proofing every two years once it becomes classified as an 'old model' i.e. 5 years plus - this also depends on whether you frequently drive salt gritted roads, rural gravel roads or do a lot of off-road driving - all of which can damage the underseal or chip paint off the body work exposing bare metal.

What’s the best car rust proofing solution

The products can be applied yourself with our convenient DINITROL aerosols or with an underbody wax 1 litre can DINITROL products with schutz style spray gun. Or, you can visit a local affiliated DINITROL treatment centre. They will then strip away your wheel arch covers, plastic trays and coverings to ensure all cavities within the car underbody are completely coated. Along with applying the car rust proofing underbody coating to the chassis area the wheel-housings and side-skits are also covered.

The undercarriage holds vital parts, such as wheels, axles, brake lines and exhaust systems which is why it needs to be cared for through regular inspection, washing and rust proofing.

"I live in Finland and I would personally have a new car professionally rustproofed regardless of factory undercoating - because factory undercoatings have often proven to be inadequate or practically worthless over here in the past depending on manufacturer (in some cases, there was no undercoating at all). However, regular washing is naturally important as well."

If you plan on keeping your car for more than five years, applying rust proofing will ensure it stays with you for many years and doesn't get dumped in a field left to corrode away to a sad ending!
